CowSwap’s CoW-filiate program goes live!!
As y’all probably know at this point, CowSwap’s name comes from the economic phenomenon “Coincidence of Wants”, where users’ orders can be matched with each other to obtain better prices. When the protocol finds a CoW, trades are settled p2p which allows saving some $$ in slippage, gas, and LP fees. The network effect of CoWs increases alongside with the number of traders using the protocol, the more users we have sending orders to the protocol, the better the prices and gas savings the protocol is able to offer. Our new CoW-filiate program is aiming to increase this positive network effect.
To further get the CoWs tipped off, we’re introducing our very own affiliate program designed to incentivize our cow-munity to spread the word about CowSwap. Share your link, collect your high score, and increase everybody’s prices!!
**Please note that at this time, the referral program only runs for Ethereum Mainnet.**
How to participate
The CoW-filiate program is for everyone to join: every user can share a unique link with their own network of friends and followers — enabling the tracing of the overall volume generated by them on CowSwap.
Introducing the new Profile Page
We’ve added a Profile Page to the CowSwap UI, tracing both your own and your followers’ trading volume. Once you are connected to your wallet, you can create a personal referral link. The goal is to leverage this link as much as possible to collect more trading volume associated with your account.
Privacy
The CoW-filiate program only contains information that is either available on-chain or in IPFS, and we want to make clear THAT WE DO NOT store any sensitive personal information from the users. The information collected can be broken down into the following parts:
Information related to the main/creation wallet:
- # of trades performed on Cowswap by that wallet.
- Amount of volume traded on CowSwap by that wallet.
Information related to the wallets that followed the referral link:
- # of trades performed on Cowswap by referral link followers.
- Amount of volume traded on CowSwap by referral link followers.
The affiliate program fetches data from Dune, including the USD price estimation from their price feeds. Therefore, the page is as limited to show USD estimations, as Dune price feeds are. If you want to find out more details about how the CoW-filiate program works, please visit our FAQ page.
GET CREATIVE
Well, now it’s up to you to leverage your link most effectful to collect the most trading volume associated with your account. You can share it on Twitter, your Youtube account, integrate it into your own dapp — or you can get way more creative than that…
One goal of this CoW-filiate program is to spark innovation among our cow-munity to #buidl and for everyone to find their most optimal UI and trade through there. Through the feedback submitted by our cow-munity so far, we understand that there are different needs for each user, and this is why we are aware that we cannot have one single UI to rule them all. We want to help our cow-munity build different UIs on top of the CoW protocol with the aim of attracting new users and offering everyone the best trading experience.
Our most advanced cow-munity members can leverage their unique identifier to channel trading volume via their own UI — now it’s your time to add more animals to the party.
