Hello, CoW-orld!
In June of 2022, as per CIP-8 the first CoW Protocol Grants Program was set to be deployed to serve as a body for incentivizing CoWmunity contributions and to fund the next wave of innovations in the CoW-orld.
Now that the CoW Grants Program (CGP) has been approved by token holders and funds have moved to the Grants Committee multisig, it’s time to moooo-ve to the next phase and officially release the CoW Grants Program website:
The launch of the website marks the official release of the Grants Program. After spending a few months in beta, we’ve had some successes, learnings, and hiccups that have helped us move forward. After a good glass of milk, hiccups are gone and the program is ready to be launched.
Applications are now open!
The CoW Grants program welcomes anyone to submit an application to get compensated for work that advances the CoW Protocol ecosystem. These are not just rewards for jobs that need to be done — they are investments in the future of the community and the future of CoW Protocol.

As part of our commitment to the ecosystem, we will write occasional blog posts to update the CoWmunity on grants processes, and to ensure that all CoW Grants applications are handled transparently.
For now, the best way to keep up with the status of past, present, and future applications is through the Airtable insert on the CoW Grants website.
Funding Priorities:
The CoWmunity is at the heart of everything CoW Protocol achieves and it is thanks to you all that it has come this far. Although CGP is still in an early stage, our goal is to ensure sustainable growth for the passionate ecosystem that has dedicated so much time and effort in growing the protocol.
Our mission is to continue cultivating enthusiasm and talent. So, to start, CGP is seeking to support projects focused on the following:
- CoWmunity growth → CoW Protocol needs more orderflow for its positive network effect kick in. For this, we need to spread the word in all sorts of ways
- User interface and user experience (UI/UX) → CoW Swap is the leading UI for interacting with the CoW Protocol, but this is not the only one. Balancer, Swapr and more are already hosting a UI that routes orders through CoW Protocol, and it would be great to see many different UIs catered to a variety of user needs
- Decentralization → Decentralizing a protocol is not a trivial task, and in order to accomplish it, we need help from anyone that is willing and capable
- Developer tools (SDK) → Building on top of projects is often quite hard and cumbersome, if we want more projects to build on top of CoW Protocol, we need to build more tooling around the CoW SDK to make it easier for developers.
- Integrations and protocol order flow
- Other/misc.
CoW Grants Program will aim to support both individuals and teams attempting to deliver innovative solutions, tackle existing problems, or contribute to existing tooling. Any topic related to the above mentioned areas will also be considered.
If you have an idea for a project that does not fall within the scope of these funding goals, you are encouraged to engage with CoW Grants Program anyway to help inform future funding priorities.

The CoW Grants committee will continue working hard to improve the program and grow the mission as best they can to serve the ecosystem and its contributors.
